So I know that I already did a post today for the challenge, but I'm actually a day behind because I got lazy on Thursday, so this movie was supposed to be posted today anyway. And oh my goodness, is it a good movie! It has two of my all time favourite actors EVER in it, and I will probably post a picture of them together so I can fawn over them (and whoever else wishes to fawn may do so as well!). On with the show!

#21. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997)
“I've only been here three days and it's just a shooting, but give it time, okay. This place is fantastic. It's like Gone With the Wind on Mescalin. I know you're my agent. Listen to me, they walk imaginary pets here, Garland. On a fucking leash. Alright? And they're all heavily armed and drunk. New York is boring!”
"Why didn't you come in?"
"I never enter the office on Sunday. B-a-a-ad juju."
"You know I'm straight."
"So am I. Straight to my house. Let's go."
"Hey Joe, what happened?"
"Oh, that Jim Williams went and shot somebody. Canape?"
"To understand the living, you gotta commune with the dead."
SYNOPSIS: This panoramic tale of Savannah's eccentricities focuses on a murder and the subsequent trial of Jim Williams: self made man, art collector, antiques dealer, bon vivant and semi-closeted homosexual. John Kelso a magazine reporter finds himself in Savannah amid the beautiful architecture and odd doings to write a feature on one of William's famous Christmas parties. Between being Jim's buddy, cuddling up to a torch singer, meeting every eccentric in Savannah, participating in midnight graveyard rituals and helping solve the mysteries surrounding Billy's (Jim's lover) murder, Kelso has his hands full.
WHY IS IT ON THE LIST: Because of these two men:

You don't understand. I just. Hmm. Most of you on my friendslist are well aware of my all consuming love for these two men... and the two of them in a movie together? How could I not love it?! Also, there are so many fucking hilarious quotes and things (which is why this page has more than one main quote; I couldn't just pick one!), and the plot is brilliant, and the characters are absurd and bizarre yet wonderful and warm and it's funny with this side of creepiness and it's actually based on an equally brilliant book by John Berendt which I also recommed you guys check out. But yes. This movie. THIS MOVIE. Definitely in my top ten.
