Guys, some of the bushfires happening right now are out of control. Plus NSW is experiencing an extremely bad heatwave. A lot of the state is in the 'catastrophic/code red' zones, meaning the worst fire zones.

Plus Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia have been wracked with fires as well. I feel awful saying this - but I can't for the life of me remember if I've got other Aussie's from these areas on my friends-list. If so - I hope you guys are okay and staying safe.

I've just called my grandmother and asked her if she's staying safe. She says it's unbearably hot but she's staying indoors. She also says the fires haven't reached her or my aunt yet, thank god. I'm going down to see her tomorrow with my brother and uncle and cousins.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. There are people still missing and so many have lost their homes. They need all the help they can get.

So my computer has died. Dead dead dead. I'm typing this from my mother's iPad which I probably won't be able to use again because she really doesn't like sharing. What does this all mean? It means I'm screwed. My whole life is on that thing. I can only hope that the computer guy can recover my files. Wish me luck. I'll do my best to check in whil I'm at school, but as you can understand, it's gonna be tricky. Honestly, I'm just so devastated right now, I can't even begin to describe it. And mum's hovering over my shoulder yelling at me to get off. Fuck. Hopefully I'll see you guys soon. Love you all! xx

This is for all the Buffy and Harry Potter authors on my friends list. The original post talks about Buffy and Doctor Who, but when I followed the link, I saw that Harry Potter fandom is affected as well. I don't personally use fanfiction.net, but I know that some of you do.

If these numbers are correct, fanfiction.net just deleted roughly 12% of all Buffy and Doctor Who fic on there with no warning, no chance for writers to correct the perceived problems, and with temporary bans for those who get their stories deleted. Going by some comments I've seen, most have been removed either for using non-grade-school-friendly words in their summaries or for including "love scenes" that aren't considered "tasteful" (their words), but that's not the only thing they go by; one fic was apparently removed for including the word "killed" in its summary. One or two people have reported having their stories reinstated after mailing support, others have gotten rude replies that basically boil down to "RTFM, STFU." Personally I haven't gotten any reply at all after three days.

It might also be interesting to note that ff.net have blocked the possibility to export fics to AO3.

If you want to back up your ff.net stories and reviews, Storymaster seems to work pretty well.

Okay so I think I have borked my game. Or maybe not, but either way someone is not right. Basically, no grey hairs are showing up for females. It's not that bad because some of the custom greys are still in the custom bin, but seriously. WHAT DID I DO? And how do I fix it? Can any other simmers out there help?

Does this make any sense? Here's a pic, apologies for the shitty quality. SEE? Where are all the elder hairs? They show up for the males, why not the females? Am I being an idiot, and is the fix really obvious? I don't know...
