oh_deannaCatching up catching up oh yeah. I'm beyond exhausted right now. This week has been so busy! And I have a ridiculous amount of homework next week (Info Lit practice assessments, MARC coding exercises for Cataloguing, periodical searches for Databases, plus I have to put together a resume & cover letter), and all I want to do is sit in the backyard, smoke my cigarettes and listen to my Black Keys. Oh, and watch this movie.

SYNOPSIS: After an experimental bio-nerve gas is accidentally released at a remote U.S. military base in Texas, those exposed to the gas turn into flesh-eating, mutating zombies out to kill. An assortment of various people who include stripper Cherry, her shady mechanic ex-boyfriend Wray, a strong-willed doctor, the local sheriff, and an assortment of various people must join forces to survive the night as the so-called "sickos" threaten to take over the whole town and the world.
WHY IS IT ON THE LIST: Two words. Robert Rodriguez. He did such a good job with this movie, such a good job. Of the two Grindhouse flicks, this one is my favourite. It's got everything you can want in a good zombie movie - a hot main character, a pyscho doctor, a hot lesbian nurse... and oh yeah, a girl with a machine gun leg. I mean, what more can you ask for? I love love love Rose McGowan in this movie. She kicks ass and she's so tough, it's awesome. The plot is the most ridiuclous thing that was ever created and that's what makes it so amazing. It's a throwback to those crazy 70s exploitation horror films, so there's elements of that in this film, though it goes beyond that. Just good, shlockey horror fun. A must see for zombie fans. Also, Bruce Willis is in it. There. Now you have to watch it.
