THE BLACK KEYS: A LOVE STORY

I AM GOING TO SEE THE BLACK KEYS IN OCTOBER MY DAD IS BUYING ME TICKETS FOR MY BIRTHDAY WHICH IS ALSO IN OCTOBER I AM GOING WITH MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WORLD (EMMA) TO SEE MY FAVOURITE BAND IN THE WHOLE WORLD (THE AFOREMENTIONED BLACK KEYS). I AM CRYING TEARS OF JOY RIGHT NOW NO JOKE.
Anyway, so tickets when on sale last week but there are still tickets left so I'm going to hopefully get them tomorrow. I am so happy right now. I've loved the Black Keys since I was in year 12, and according to last.fm, I first scrobbled one of their songs (So He Won't Break, apparently) on the 14th of October 2008. It's been a whirlwind romance ever since. In celebration of the fact that I am actually going to be in the same place as Dan and Patrick in October, here are some of my favourite Black Keys songs. If you haven't heard of them before / never really got them, I implore you to give them a chance. They are amazing. They're tight as hell, every single song is amazingly raw and awesome and [insert other awesome sounding adjective here]. They're this perfect combination of garage rock and blues and they're the best. These comments on youtube describes them better than I ever could:

So He Won't Break - the first Black Keys song I ever heard.
The Lengths - this song always makes me cry. It reminds me of my Great Grandmere's funeral.
Just Got To be - my favourite Black Keys song (which incidentally is also on my favourite Black Keys album, Magic Potion)
When the Lights Go Out - a really sexy song that was in the movie Black Snake Moan. I actually think it was playing during the sex scene between Justin Timberlake and Christina Ricci. SO HOT.
The Moan - another really sexy song
Work Me - and ANOTHER one. This one is off the Chulahoma EP, which contains only covers of songs by Junior Kimbrough, an insanely good blues musician in his own right.
Next Girl - this is the song that I got stuck in my head to the point where people were prepared to murder me if I didn't stop singing it. Also, the music video is hilarious. FRANK. FRANK IS A FUNKASAURUS REX, Y'ALL.
Little Black Submarines - this song kind of sounds like Stairway to Heaven, but that doesn't make it any less awesome. My favourite song from their latest album, El Camino.
Brooklyn Bound - and last but not least, my favourite song from their very first album, The Big Come Up.
