Catching up catching up oh yeah. I'm beyond exhausted right now. This week has been so busy! And I have a ridiculous amount of homework next week (Info Lit practice assessments, MARC coding exercises for Cataloguing, periodical searches for Databases, plus I have to put together a resume & cover letter), and all I want to do is sit in the backyard, smoke my cigarettes and listen to my Black Keys. Oh, and watch this movie.

#7. Planet Terror (2007)

"Don't shoot yourself. Don't shoot each other. And especially... don't shoot me."

SYNOPSIS: After an experimental bio-nerve gas is accidentally released at a remote U.S. military base in Texas, those exposed to the gas turn into flesh-eating, mutating zombies out to kill. An assortment of various people who include stripper Cherry, her shady mechanic ex-boyfriend Wray, a strong-willed doctor, the local sheriff, and an assortment of various people must join forces to survive the night as the so-called "sickos" threaten to take over the whole town and the world.

WHY IS IT ON THE LIST: Two words. Robert Rodriguez. He did such a good job with this movie, such a good job. Of the two Grindhouse flicks, this one is my favourite. It's got everything you can want in a good zombie movie - a hot main character, a pyscho doctor, a hot lesbian nurse... and oh yeah, a girl with a machine gun leg. I mean, what more can you ask for? I love love love Rose McGowan in this movie. She kicks ass and she's so tough, it's awesome. The plot is the most ridiuclous thing that was ever created and that's what makes it so amazing. It's a throwback to those crazy 70s exploitation horror films, so there's elements of that in this film, though it goes beyond that. Just good, shlockey horror fun. A must see for zombie fans. Also, Bruce Willis is in it. There. Now you have to watch it.

I got hung up this day doing Cataloguing homework for TAFE, so I'm writing this out now (on the 11th). I didn't really like this movie the first time I wached, but subsequent viewings have just made me grow to love it more and more. Making fun of all of our favourite zombie movies - Shaun of the Dead.

#6. Shaun of the Dead (2004)

"Who died and made you fucking king of the zombies?"

SYNOPSIS: Life isn't too good for Shaun. He lives with his best friend Ed, neglects his girlfriend Liz and despises his step-dad. When Liz dumps Shaun, he vows to get his life back on track. Unfortunatly, this is the day that the dead has decided to come back to life. With a cricket bat and Ed by his side, Shaun sets out to rescue those he loves and those he doesn't love, and heads to the safest place he knows...the Winchester.

WHY IS IT ON THE LIST: It's hilarious and awesome and just a really good movie. The script is hilarious, a wonderful blend of British humour and a 'horror'. Seriously, the British have the best comedy movies. The best. I'm sure there's more I could say about this movie, I'm currently coming up blank. OH. I love the relationship between Shaun and Ed, especially at the end when (SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT) Shaun keeps Zombie!Ed in his back shed and plays video games with him. Their love is endless!

We are having a serious discussion about how a zombie/robot love affair would work. She isn't even fazed by me asking the question. The joys of having a friend who can deal with my crazy :3

SUP GUISE. I did this silly thing and signed up for like a BAZILLION AND ONE big bangs over the next couple of months (as an artiste~ -aka mixer-) so I thought I'd pop my 'schedule' up here so I don't forget any important dates. I'm colour-coding things to make it look professional and shiny. I already have a hand-written version of this hanging up on the back of my bedroom door (and I had WAAAAAAAAY too much fun making it. Markers are awesome!)

*12/8/11 - sooooooooo someone invited me to join the Journey Big Bang... how could I resist?! I can't believe how many I'm signed up to do, seriously...

**14/8/11 - someone has to stop me from signing up for these. Seriously. Stop me. This is getting ridiculous. Just found the bigbang_mixup, which is TOTALLY up my alley. I HAVE to do it!!! And then, well, I saw the link for the Original Big Bang.... God help me. Seriously. I'm going to get it all done though, I promise. It'll just be a challenge :/

***20/8/11 - this is getting ridiculous. Historical Big Bang, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

****24/10/11 - it was bound to happen. With Nanowrimo and life being all crazy and stuff, I'm dropping out of a couple of these. Le sigh :(

So those of you who know me are well aware that I am a big horror buff. Like, super-intense-live-for-the-genre-my-dreams-are-all-horror-based kind of buff. And one of my favourite things to do is combine my favourite genre and my favourite fandoms and smooosh them together to create

Harry Potter is sadly lacking in this, but GLEE. Oh my Gaga, the Glee fandom rocks at writing horror/apocalypse/paranormal/thriller fic. And I love them for it. I'm signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] klainebigbang, and reading through the prompt/plot post makes me super happy, because I can already see that a couple of people have got horror-related plots.

It's funny isn't it? For a show that advertises itself as a musical-comedy, the amount of dark!fanfiction is astounding. And totally awesome.

I'm going to have to make a rec-list for fics like this - the [livejournal.com profile] glee_angst_meme will be a great place to start.

Also, just want to pimp out - the big bang for glee crossover fic! I'm the only person signed up as an artist so far :(

oh_deanna: (glee // so gangsta so thug)
I've missed doing these ♥
Also, apologies for the possibly seizure-inducing gif

Sue going nuts was freaking hilarious
Puck and Finn's epic bromance is a go? YESSSS
I love Quinn sticking up for herself and the team - she seems like a good captain
Zombie camp cracked me up so bad - especially Rachel doing her regular old 'glide across the floor' dancing
Their makeup was awesome
She's Not There done as a zombie performance was freakin bizarre
You know for a minute there I actually liked Karofsky...
Lol what are they doing omg joining the football team this is going to be hilarious
"how many m's are there in the letter r?"
"LET'S KICK SOME ASS!!" - Rachel I love you so much. this is why you're my favourite ♥
Brittany sticking up for herself and the girls quitting = amazing
Not liking this hint of Quinn/Finn business though :/
OMG KURT dancing in the stands it's hilarious
It totally cracked up during their "BRAINSSSS" thing
I honestly hought some of the football players would join Glee club :( so disappointed in Karofsky

One of my new year's resolution this year was to watch as many horror films as I could possibly manage. I didn't give myself a specific number I had to watch, because I didn't want to put too much pressure on myself. Horror is my favourite genre, so I want to have fun. I spent awhile debating how I was going to go about this, but then some lovely darling on [livejournal.com profile] ontdcreepy  linked to this. TA-DA!

I've decided that this post will just list the movies I've watched, and the year they were released in, and the date I watched them. Once a week or so, I'll do a post about the ones I've watched recently, because they'll be ridiculous and I'll need to laugh about them :D LOL ONE DAY I WILL GET AROUND TO REVIEWS.

it begins... )
